Summary of the 2002-12-04 Session in B Whewell's Court. The meeting was headed by the THICKO steering committee, headed by John Fremlin and Thomas Köppe, who is here reporting for the Trinity Humous Society.
With the start of the new academic year, THICKO congratulates itself to its first anniversary of existence. The provisional steering committee that had been in charge of bringing Trinity THICKO could but respond to last year's tremendous results by initiating steps towards establishing THICKO on a firm, university wide basis.
The major step in this endeavour has clearly been the celebrated advent of the THICKO Constitution, on basis of which the society is now officially registered. According to the constitution, the Duma is will henceforth run the society, which welcomes John Fremlin as its first Prime Minister and Thomas Köppe as its first Chairman. THICKO extends a special warm welcome to its Senior Treasurer, Dr Arthur Norman.
On its first post-constitutional session, THICKO members were demonstrating true pioneers' spirit. Pita bread and chickpeas had been acquired beforehand. The chickpeas had been set to soak for well nigh a whole night and were ready to be blended. Using techniques that had successfully been applied in the past, they were soon blended. However, this time a variety of additional ingredients was provided, and while sunflower oil and lemon juice replaced what would formerly have been water, additional amounts of garlic (well squished beforehand), pepper and chili were carefully blended in under constant monitoring. Carefully quantized supplements of Tehina ensured the traditional flavor of the mixture. Ultimately, however, a unique new line of taste was discovered when small quantities of Ouzo were brought into the game.
When the prepared houmous was finally presented for public consumption, THICKO members, nonmembers and the Duma in particular judged the result as "pleasant" and "successful". THICKO has definitely found its way into a new year of new challenges, which it looks forward to facing.
A new, entertaining, feature was added to THICKO when the Duma declared the meeting social and started screening episodes of Futurama.
